SunChemApp Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: August 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SunChem LLC, an Arizona,
United States company ("SunChem", "we", "us", or "our"), handles personal
information when you use the SunChemApp website, web app, mobile apps, and
support services (together, the "Service").
We do not sell personal information for money, use it for cross-context
behavioral advertising, or include third-party advertising or analytics
SDKs in the current version of SunChemApp.
Information we collect and where it comes from
-
Account and profile information. Our sign-in provider
gives us an account identifier and may provide your email address, name,
and profile image. You may add an optional display name. We also keep
session information needed to keep you signed in and secure your account.
-
Pool and chemistry information. We store information you
enter or generate through the Service, including pool names, dimensions,
equipment and surface details, water-test readings and history, chemical
and dosing records, targets, product choices, routines, notes, settings,
and related calculations.
-
Team and sharing information. We store organization
membership, roles, permissions, invitation links, and records needed to
share selected pool information with teammates or customers. Other
members may provide information about you through shared notes or pool
records.
-
Location (optional). Location is always optional and
used only when you request a location feature. If you use device
location or search for a place, the Service processes the coordinates or
search text to identify a pool location and retrieve weather,
sun-exposure, and seasonal information. If you save a pool location, we
store its label and coordinates with that pool. Device coordinates may
be precise depending on your device and permission settings, and are sent
to the location and weather providers named below when you use the
relevant feature. SunChemApp does not request background location access.
-
Street address (optional). You may save an address with
a pool for route planning. We store and sync it with that pool. When you
choose to open directions, your device sends the destination to Google
Maps or the mapping service you open.
-
Subscription and transaction information. We receive
information needed to verify and manage your plan, such as subscription
status, product or plan, renewal status, store or processor identifiers,
and limited transaction details. Apple, Google, or Stripe processes your
payment information. SunChem does not receive or store full payment-card
numbers.
-
Device, usage, and diagnostic information. Our servers
and service providers may automatically process standard request and
security data such as IP address, browser or device type, operating
system, request times, app version, crash or error details, and actions
needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the Service.
-
Communications. If you contact us, we receive the
message, email address, and any information you choose to include.
How we use your information
- Provide, personalize, calculate, sync, and support Service features.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts, teams, and pool data.
- Process optional location, weather, geocoding, and route requests.
- Manage subscriptions, entitlements, limits, and account deletion.
- Respond to support requests and communicate important Service or policy changes.
- Monitor reliability, diagnose errors, prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect users, SunChem, and others.
When information is disclosed
We disclose information only as reasonably needed for the following:
-
Your team and people you authorize. Organization owners,
teammates, and customer-link recipients can see pool data, notes, names,
and activity available under their role and permissions. Team owners
control team membership and team pool data. Only share invitation links
with people you trust.
-
Service providers. Providers process information for
hosting, database storage, authentication, payments, subscriptions,
weather, geocoding, mapping, fonts, security, and technical operations,
as described below.
-
Legal, safety, and business reasons. We may disclose
information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal
process; protect rights, safety, and security; investigate abuse; enforce
our agreements; or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of
assets. A successor would remain subject to this policy for the
information it receives unless it gives legally required notice.
Service providers and third-party services
These providers may receive the data needed to perform their function and
may also process standard device or request information under their own
terms and privacy policies:
-
Replit provides hosting, platform infrastructure,
database services, and sign-in services. Authentication may provide us
with your account identifier, email, name, and profile image.
See Replit's privacy notice.
-
Apple App Store and Google Play process mobile
purchases, store accounts, cancellations, and refunds under their own
policies. We receive subscription and entitlement information, not full
payment-card details.
-
RevenueCat manages in-app purchase products,
subscription status, and entitlements using an app-specific user
identifier.
See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
-
Stripe processes web purchases, customer billing, and
subscription management.
See Stripe's privacy policy.
-
Open-Meteo receives place-search text or pool
coordinates to return location matches and weather forecasts.
See Open-Meteo's terms and privacy information.
-
BigDataCloud receives coordinates when you ask the
Service to convert a device location into a place name.
See BigDataCloud's privacy policy.
-
Google Maps receives a destination when you choose to
open a saved address or route in Google Maps. Your use is governed by
Google's privacy policy.
-
Google Fonts supplies fonts to the web app and receives
standard web-request data, such as IP address and browser information,
when those font files load.
Cookies and storage on your device
The web app and authentication providers use cookies or similar
technologies that are necessary to sign you in, maintain a session,
protect the Service, and remember choices. Browser local storage may hold
language and unit preferences, selected-pool and sync information, and a
local copy of pool data for speed and offline use. The mobile app similarly
uses local device storage for preferences and cached pool data, and secure
device storage for its authentication token. Removing local data, signing
out, deleting your account, or uninstalling the app may remove some or all
of these device copies, depending on your platform and backups.
Retention and deletion
We generally keep account, team, and pool information while your account
or the relevant team is active and as needed to provide the Service. You
may delete pools you are authorized to delete. You may also request
account deletion directly in Settings. An owner must first remove other
team members so deletion does not strand their team.
Account deletion removes your account, active SunChemApp sessions, and
personal or owner-controlled data from our active database, subject to the
team rules described here and in our Terms. Information you added to a
team owned by someone else may remain under that owner's control, including
pool records or notes already shared with the team. Subscription
processors, app stores, security logs, legal records, and backups may
retain limited information for their normal retention periods or as
necessary for billing, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal
compliance, and system recovery. When retained for those reasons, the
information remains subject to appropriate protections and is not used for
unrelated purposes.
Your choices and privacy rights
- Decline or revoke location access through device or browser settings.
- Change pool data and profile information available in the Service.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through Stripe, Apple, or Google, depending on where you purchased.
- Delete your account through Settings → Delete account.
- Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing where applicable.
Privacy rights vary by location and may have legal exceptions. We may need
to verify your identity and authority over an account before acting. If an
authorized agent submits a request, we may require proof of authorization.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy
right. If we deny a request, you may contact us to ask for review.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures
intended to protect information, including access controls and encrypted
network connections where supported. No service, transmission, or storage
method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Protect your sign-in method and contact us if you suspect unauthorized use.
International processing
SunChem is based in the United States. We and our providers may process
information in the United States and other countries whose privacy laws may
differ from those where you live. Where required, we use legally recognized
mechanisms for international transfers.
Children's privacy
SunChemApp is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may
not create an account. If we learn that we collected personal information
from a child under 13 without legally valid authorization, we will take
reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian may contact us about
such information. Users who are minors where they live should use the
Service only with permission and appropriate adult supervision,
particularly when handling pool chemicals.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service or law changes. We will post the
updated policy and change the date above. If a change materially affects
how we use information, we will provide additional notice when required.
